Mission to Mars, a curriculum developed by the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), provides 4th-6th grade students the opportunity to plan and carry out a simulated mission to Mars. This is a true STEAM program including math, science, nutrition, art, music, movement, and teamwork.
The 55-minute class will meet every week for about 28 weeks and will be held until a Friday in late April or early May 2024, depending on the date of the Link Up Day. The Link Up Day is a six hour event held at the Albuquerque Convention Center to which families are welcome half-way through to view the children’s accomplishments.
The cost includes ALL materials.
The students will frequently need to work with their classmates outside of class.
No class Thanksgiving week or APS spring vacation week.
To make 28 sessions, the teacher will schedule other weeks off as discussed with the class.
