Heartwood Membership

Welcome to PLANT's Heartwood Learning Center! A community center for Parent Educators

We are so excited to open a dedicated facility for parent educators.  Not only is Heartwood Learning Center a place to host PLANT classes but parents will also have the ability to stay on-site and fellowship with other parent educators in "The Bosque" and enjoy refreshment at "The Watering Can". Families are welcome to bring their school work and work together with other families or one-on-one with their own students.   We invite you to form study groups and co-ops, hire tutors or take advantage of advertised classes, one-time workshops and other PLANT sponsored events like teen dances or family nights.  

A Heartwood Family Membership with an approved background check is required of any adult wishing to use the facility during child learning hours (subject to change). 

Monday 8am – 12pm
Tuesday 8am – 4pm
Wednesday 8am – 4pm
Thursday 8am - 4pm
Friday 8am – 12pm
Saturday 8am – 12pm

Adult members can also schedule use of the building Monday, Friday or Saturday morning for educational activities with minors or during non-child learning hours for families.  All adults present must be members and all non-member children must pay a $2.50/week or hour (if one time for multiple hours) location fee. 

Your family membership includes a background check for the primary parent (additional adults in the family may request a background check separately for $22 here:  https://ministryopportunities.org/opportunity/39756  When completing the registration form, please include information for the primary parent for which the background check will be completed.  You must sign to the background check authorization unless you can provide a background check conducted by a third party within the past two years. FAILURE TO SIGN THE BACKGROUND CHECK AUTHORIZATION WILL CAUSE YOUR MEMBERSHIP TO BE ON HOLD UNTIL SUCH BACKGROUND CHECK IS PROVIDED.  

Benefits of Heartwood Learning Center Membership:

• Stay on-site while students are in class
• member discounts on one-time workshops or other events
• ability to reserve the use of the building for private events ($50 deposit applies)

Note: Students are not required to be members to take a PLANT advertised class.  

Any family that has seven PLANT class registrations at the Heartwood Center (other locations excluded) will receive a free Heartwood Family Membership. 

*The price will increase to $150/year January 1, 2027.  Those who get in at the initial Founder's Rate may renew at that price for a second year.
