*Poetry Memorization (using Linguistic Development Through Poetry Memorization from IEW)*Grammar (Fix It from IEW)
This class is designed to complement the Fables, Myths & Fairy Tales IEW class offered at 9:30. Fix It is a curriculum that reinforces IEW concepts and integrates grammar instruction. The basic format is to proofread and correctly rewrite a classic story, 10 sentences per week. Linguistic Development Through Poetry Memorization is simply memorizing poems. Why? Because, as IEW’s beloved Andrew Pudewa explains, it is “a vital source of powerful and significant linguistic patterning.” In other words, it is a great way to foster your child’s language development. Homework will include assignments for poetry memorization, and “Fix It” exercises.
For 3rd-5th grade or if enrolled in Fables, Myths & Fairy Tales IEW
This class is one semester. If there is enough demand, it will be offered again in the spring.
