This course makes use of the Dave Ramsey Foundations in Personal Finance: Middle School curriculum, which is a 9-week curriculum. The curriculum includes video instruction as well as activities and a student text. My goal is to complete all activities and textbook work in class. Students should not expect to have "bookwork" to complete outside of class unless they do not complete the activities during class. Instead, homework will involve observing, practicing and thinking about money in their daily lives. In addition, we will be supplementing the curriculum with some experiential learning by planning and operating a small business venture. *During weeks 7, 8 and 9 we will be operating the business and we will have the need for some of the students to stay until 12:45 during these 3 weeks. This will be a fun opportunity for them. As some students have classes starting at 1:00 we will make sure they have the opportunity for a quick lunch and get to their next class on time. Please plan to have your student stay an extra 15 minutes these weeks if possible.
