Description

Standing Tall United For Freedom (S.T.U.F.F.)

An all new S.T.U.F.F. experience!

Government can do some Bad STUFF especially when Godly men and women don't participate.  What is the role of government? How does it work?  How is is supposed to work?  Who should we turn to solve our problems? Can government stop Bad STUFF from happening?  Can you?

In our Republican Form of government we rely on a system of checks and balances among three branches of government - the Legislative, Executive and Judicial.  This year's focus is on how the Executive Branch operates.  What should different members of the Executive branch do in a time of crisis?  How do citizens, stakeholders, and other government entities interact to solve problems? Does passing legislation fix the problem?  Or does the Executive need "emergency powers"?

Students ages 12-19 will have the opportunity to act out such a scenario in our BAD STUFF Executive Simulation.  Students will play the roles of Executive Branch players such as members of the Governor's cabinet, the State Engineer, special interest groups, business representatives, citizens, local elected officials, legislators, city council members and more! In addition, students will run for office in our mock elections, pass legislation in our mock legislature, meet new friends in small groups, learn new things in their policy groups, hear from guest speakers and prepare to be more informed members of society. We will pray, fellowship, play games, and have fun!

Lunches are included each day.

Top Golf on Wednesday is included but parents must provide transportation 12:30 -2:30.

Each participant receives a commemorative T-shirt.
