Description

Who were the mountain men? What drove them to cover the territory they did? Combining geography, commerce & trade, survival, black powder weaponry, tomahawks, knives, trapping, food(s), clothing, beadwork, skrimshaw, parfleches, fire starting, plain sign language, campfire stories, culminating in our own Rendezvous on the last day of class. 
Marsha will offer OPTIONAL additional outside reading & writing assignments in the IEW format for older students (parents) who would like to extend the lessons during the week. 

 

John Colter, Jim Bridger, Jedediah Smith, Tom Fitzpatrick, Jim Beckwourth, Kit Carson and many, many more! Beginning each week with a video from “The Wild Frontier” on YouTube &/or Amazon Prime. These videos are rated 14+ due to the nature of guns, hunting, shooting, battles, etc. There is some occasional “language” for you to be aware.  Contact Marsha if you have any questions!
