Phonics Class – Ages 5-7 Prerequisite: Students should know the alphabet letters and sounds The Phonics Dance!™ incorporates rhyme, movement, and sounds, known as letter blends or “hunks and chunks” to deliver reading success. Why the Phonics Dance? Though 84% of words in English are phonetically correct, the 16% that aren’t appear in literature 80% of the time. The Phonics Dance is for all students, regardless of developmental level. Through sight, sound, and movement, the brain acquires muscle memory. Students will make words with movable letters and write on white boards for the final activity of the day. Taught by Georgia Babb, a former reading teacher with proven success. Ch!
