Dion’s® offers an educational and fun opportunity for children Pre-K through 5th grade to apply what they are learning in the classroom to real-life experiences.
The in-person tour is composed of two facilitator-taught lessons along with a behind-the-scenes look at our restaurants. In addition, each child receives a workbook containing a number of activities designed with educational standards in mind. The tour is conducted by a dedicated tour guide and occur prior to store openings at 9:30am. During the tour, students learn about food groups, math concepts, safety, and teamwork. After the tour is complete, the students eat pizza in our dining room.
Children must be at least three years of age to participate.

Parents and students welcome but must stay with our group. Must agree to follow Zoo Etiquette.
Students under 8 must be accompanied by adult.
Bring a sack lunch - no glass!
Students accompanied by and adult where both have a Zoo membership are welcome to join us and are not required to pay.

Waste Water Reclamation Tour
During the two-hour tour students will do more than just hear about how we clean Albuquerque's wastewater, they'll see it! We look under the microscope at a drop of activated sludge to see microorganisms that clean the water. We walk the plant following the path of the wastewater as it is cleaned. At the end of the tour, standing on the banks of the Rio Grande where the cleaned water is released into the revier we discuss current wastewater issues.
